Brightcove provides Internet video serving platforms. Recruited a senior executive to oversea Brightcove’s joint venture with Dentsu, J-Stream and CCI.


HP (iBrix)

iBrix is a provider of cluster computing technology. Japan Entry signed an exclusive distribution agreement with a $100M distributor. The agreement included a six-figure prepayment.


IBM (Ascential/Ardent)

Ardent (now known as IBM Information Integration), develops database Extraction Transformation Loading (ETL) software tools for large enterprises. Identified and negotiated deals with NEC and three systems integrators to resell the ETL toolset, including the negotiation of a localization and QA contract with one partner in exchange for a time-limited incremental discount. Recruited the former GM of Holos Japan to serve as Country Manager.

Diligent is a virtual tape software vendor. Japan Entry signed an exclusive distribution agreement with a $800M distributor of Veritas, DataCore, McData, NetApp, EMC, etc. Japan Entry also “cross-pollinated” to the distributor a reseller arrangement with Hitachi, Japan’s dominant storage vendor.


Magic Software

Magic Software provides Rapid Application Development & Deployment tools. Reached Letter of Intent to form $5M joint venture with four partners. Subsequently negotiated $3M buyout of 40-person sales division of distributor (Wacom) when it went bankrupt. Hired former president of Sybase Japan to serve as Country Manager.

Scouted the former Country Manager of Business Objects, a heavy-hitter who previously served as the assistant to IBM Japan’s president, then became the #2 executive at Price-Waterhouse, and the Country Manager of PeopleSoft (where he closed the company’s largest deal ever with Toyota).



MicroStrategy is the developer of advanced business intelligence software tools. Japan Entry signed an exclusive reseller, and after the company’s revenues grew in Japan, recruited a Country Manager.



Nexenta delivers open architecture, hardware agnostic software-only storage solutions. Recruited Country Manager, SEs and salespeople.

Oracle (Retec/Syncra Systems) provides supply chain Collaborative Planning, Forecasting and Replenishment (CPFR®) solutions. Qualified and negotiated non-exclusive customer and distribution relationship with Hitachi, Ltd., including a $2M purchase of a pilot system for a prominent Japanese retailer.

Japan Entry helped Salford recruit Japan’s largest Oracle reseller and its financial engineering systems integration affiliated company as distribution partners.

Salient engaged Japan Entry as its international marketing consultant for Japan. Japan Entry recruited an exclusive distributor, including a significant upfront payment and multi-year revenue commitments.

Stac provides data recovery software. Performed rifle-shot partner search and closed a distribution deal in record time.
