Netegrity provides user identity and application entitlement management software. Japan Entry established reseller relationships with four companies. Recruited Japan Country Manager.

DELL (SonicWALL/Aventail)

Aventail provides extranet security and management solutions. Identified and negotiated a multi-year exclusive localization and distribution agreement including a $500K prepayment.

EMC (Network Intelligence) is a security event management technology provider. Japan Entry signed an exclusive distribution agreement with an SI strong in security and ERP. The agreement included a $300K prepayment.


Experian (41st Parameter)

Experian (41st Parameter) provides the eCommerce and online banking industry hosted fraud detection/ prevention services. Identified reseller and customer partner prospects. Hired award-winning sales executive as GM, and technical marketing manager.

Guidance Software develops digital forensics, cyber security and e-discovery solutions. Negotiated deals with two leading resellers, including a top 5 systems integrator with deep connections at the Ministry of Defense.

IBM (Guardium)

IBM (Guardium) develops a real-time database security solution which monitors all access to sensitive data, across all major DBMS platforms and applications. Guardium engaged Japan Entry as its Japan market entry consultant. Japan Entry identified additional distribution partners and recruited a Country Manager with extensive SAP consulting and implementation experience.


IBM (Trusteer)

IBM (Trusteer) provides endpoint protection against malware and phishing on computers and mobile devices. Japan Entry identified distribution partners. Hired former Country Manager of competitor Actimize who had great success selling to bank compliance departments on a direct basis and who had worked at banks in London and Sao Paolo. Trusteer closed Japan’s top three mega-banks (Mitsubishi UFJ, Mizuho, and SMBC) within a year of starting the project.

IBM (Watchfire)

Watchfire provides automated website testing, analysis, and security software. Japan Entry signed an exclusive distributor and identified three very large reference customers, as well as hired the first Japan Country Manager as well as his successor.



Ingrian manufactures a database encryption appliance. Japan Entry signed an exclusive distributor including a $300K prepayment.



MagiQ Technologies develops Quantum Key Distribution (QKD) encryption appliances for short-haul fiber optical networks. Japan Entry signed a distribution agreement with Ciena’s #1 distributor worldwide and cross-pollinated OEM and government customer prospects.


McAfee (Network Associates)

Network Associates is a provider of network security and management software. Negotiated strategic partnerships with two partners that each dedicated 20 staff, leading to $30M in incremental revenue in the following 14 months. Each made a strategic investment of $4M in the Japan subsidiary. Japan Entry worked in strict confidentiality to avoid impacting existing sales channels negatively. Developed business plans, garnered commitments of staffing and financial resources, and managed smooth hand-off to the client’s Japanese subsidiary.


McAfee (Secure Computing/Cyberguard)

CyberGuard is a leading provider of Unified Threat Management appliances. Hired Country Manager.

Niksun is a leading provider of network security surveillance solutions based on chaos theory. Niksun engaged Japan Entry as its Japan recruiter to hire the firm’s first Country Manager, who had previously served as the GM of Symantec Laboratories Japan, where he developed relationships for Symantec with the Ministry of Defense and primary vendors such as Fujitsu, Oki, NTT Data, Hitachi, etc. Prior to that, he carried a $52M sales quota for Symantec’s security consulting services.



OpenIAM is a developer of inexpensive yet powerful and flexible identity/access management solutions based on opensource software. Japan Entry helped identify and close a reseller agreement with a major Japanese reseller, which was the company that introduced McAfee to the Japanese market. Riverbed develops WAN optimization appliances to speed application performance and data transfer. Riverbed engaged Japan Entry as its Japan recruiter to hire three individuals. This included a Channel Sales Manager with extensive experience from Juniper, a presales SE with experience from Citrix and Bluecoat, and an inside sales manager with experience from Sony.



Surety is the developer of a patented time-stamping and digital notary system. Identified partnership with NTT Data.


Symantec (Central Point)

Central Point developed utility software. Japan Entry signed an exclusive distribution agreement with Marubeni, including a large prepayment.

Symantec (Sygate)

Sygate develops endpoint security enforcement solutions. Japan Entry signed an exclusive partnership with a 1,000-person distributor including significant revenue commitments.


Thales e-Security

Thales e-Security provides security solutions for electronic payments and government markets. Recruited Japan Country Manager.


VMware (Shavlik)

VMware is a developer of automated, real-time Microsoft Windows-based security patch management tools for corporate users and OEMs. Negotiated significant prepayment and multimillion dollar revenue commitments from a top-tier distributor.



WatchGuard is a developer of security solutions, including VPN, firewall, and UTM appliances. Japan Entry identified additional resellers to build its channel in Japan.

Wave Systems is an endpoint security provider. Negotiated an OEM agreement with the Fujitsu subsidiary which developed and resells Japan’s top document security product. Recruited non-exclusive distributors.
