Memetrics provides Landing Page Optimization (LPO) technology to large websites. Japan Entry recruited as a reseller the #1 developer of web analytics in Japan, along with three early access customer prospects.


Accenture is a leading IP video ad exchange. Japan Entry helped recruited partners culminating in the service’s launch at Ad Tech Tokyo. In addition, Japan Entry recruited the Japan Country Manager, who previously ran a joint venture with Japan’s leading mobile game operator into one of the top mobile payment services companies. is an Internet ad network. Japan Entry identified a 40-person Internet Marketing subsidiary of Mitsui to become’s master distribution partner through a joint venture.


AOL is a portal and social networking service (SNS). Japan Entry identified core strategic partners and acquisition targets.

Identified and negotiated six multiple non-exclusive distribution partnerships, including Kanematsu, Canon Sales, two NTT subsidiaries, Kawasaki Steel, and a financial services IT subsidiary. Generated nearly $1M in prepayments. Identified and negotiated seven licenses for beta software customers. Set up three marketing seminars to train and present BackWeb technology to 120 key companies. Selected and established working relationship with leading Japanese public relations agency. Recruited Japan Country Manager and helped establish BackWeb office in Japan.

Celtra provides the industry’s #1 hosted ad creation tool for mobile display advertising campaigns. Japan Entry recruited a highly experienced Country Manager, whose previous experience included managing Google Japan’s Direct Sales and Operations Division with $450M revenues and a 32-person team.

American Internet (acquired by Cisco) develops a high-speed Radius server. Japan Entry identified a partner who made a multimillion commitment.

Digital Element is a provider of geo-targeting solutions for location-dependent eCommerce and content companies. Japan Entry identified the top media rep firm as the exclusive partner, including a significant prepayment.

Closed significant prepayments. Hired GM, assisted with product rollout.

iLux is a provider of integrated e-marketing solutions. Finalized a partnership with a leading distributor, including a significant prepayment and multimillion dollar revenue targets.




Innodata is the world’s #1 e-book conversion and distribution service provider. Identified and helped close evaluations, statements-of-work, and purchase orders from Japan’s 20 leading publishers in order to create e-books for the iPad, Kindle, and Kobo platforms. Recruited a Project Manager to carry on Japan Entry’s work.

Jumptap operates a premium and performance advertising network for mobile operators and publishers in North America and Europe. Jumptap engaged Japan Entry as its marketing consultant for Japan. Japan Entry helped negotiate a multimillion dollar investment and licensing deal in the world’s largest mobile advertising market with Japan’s #1 ad agency.

Identified and closed major reseller partnerships with leading companies in the eCommerce hosting, web marketing, and call center industries.

Japan Entry generated a $10M investment from Sumitomo Corporation in Engage’s parent company, CMGI and negotiated a $3M joint venture to localize and sell Engage’s services and products in Japan. Hired Country Manager. Served on Engage Japan board of directors.

ModusLink Global Solutions (CMGI) is an Internet investments and holding company. Raised $10M investment from Sumitomo. In separate transaction, set up $3M JV with CMGI subsidiary Engage Technologies.



Oracle (ATG)

ATG (Art Technology Group) is an e-Commerce software solution provider. Signed exclusive distributor, and created demand at Matsushita.


Oracle (Calico)

Calico develops quotation generation software for online commerce. Recruited five system integrators to sell and service Calico’s ecommerce solutions. Hired Country Manager, who formerly served as Country Manager of Tibco, where he grew the company to 50 people and established reseller relationships with Nippon Steel, Hitachi, Toshiba, Canon, and Matsushita.


Oracle (Fatwire/Open Market)

Oracle provides eCommerce transaction processing software. Japan Entry identified and negotiated 5 non-exclusive distribution partnerships with Mitsui, Kanematsu, KomatsuSoft, Mitsubishi Electric Information Network, and TIS which included $2M in prepayments. In addition, as part of the demand creation program, Japan Entry sold $500K of software directly to the Internet division of NTT. Japan Entry also recruited a Japan Country Manager.

Japan Entry identified two qualified resellers in a competitive "bake-off" and finalized a semi-exclusive relationship with one of them, whereby the partner provides significant infrastructure to PubMatic. Skype is the world’s largest VoIP service provider. Skype engaged Japan Entry as its international marketing consultant for Japan. Japan Entry assisted Skype to close a mega-deal with KDDI including Skype enablement of smartphones and feature phones on the KDDI network, as well as other door-opening activities for Skype’s Japanese subsidiary.
