Applix

Applix is a developer of office automation products. Japan Entry initially established a distribution relationship for ApplixApplix's UNIX office automation product including a $600K prepayment. Later we recruited a channel partner for a helpdesk product, as well as recruited the Japan Country Manager.

SemaSchlumberger/Sema is a credit card issuer/acquirer system provider. Japan Entry performed demand creation, and identified a large bank customer and OEM partner.

CDC Software

CDC SoftwareCDC Software is a ERP/SCM/CRM technology provider.  Hired the former Country Manager of Manugistics, FirePond, and SSA Global. He brought extensive ERP/SCM/CRM customer contacts and channel relationships, and a demonstrated track record of building startup companies to profitability in Japan.

CDC Software (Ross Systems)

RossRoss Systems is a developer of ERP solutions for the process industry. Japan Entry screened dozens of potential Japanese resellers, and facilitated a $1M prepayment from an existing partner.

Centric

CentricCentric Software is a developer of Web-based collaborative product development software for the distributed supply chain. Japan Entry hired the former president of BaaN Japan who, for the previous 20 years, had held senior management posts at IBM, Uniden, and BaaN.

ChemStationsChemstations

Chemstations is a leading supplier of simulation software for process industries. Japan Entry signed a $340M distributor of chemicals and plant engineering services.

CombineNet

CombineNetCombineNet provides procurement optimization technology. Japan Entry identified two top systems integrators, including a $1.4B financial services SI which is Japan's #1 reseller of Oracle, and a key player in the eProcurement systems consulting space. Japan Entry also hired a GM with an extensive background in supply chain and logistics IT systems from Adexa, where he had closed a record $36M deal.

eCopy (Simplify)

eCopyeCopy provides document imaging software for electronic distribution of paper documents. Negotiated a strategic alliance with Canon U.S.A. involving marketing funding of $3M and Canon resales of eCopy's solutions in conjunction with its copiers. Subsequently the partnership grew, and eCopy garnered a $15.8M equity investment, and Japan Entry set up distribution in Japan with Canon Sales and recruited the former VP Sales from Adobe Japan as Country Manager along with marketing and technical staff.

eCredit

eCrediteCredit is a provider of automated credit-decisioning software. Japan Entry identified and negotiated a joint venture with NTT Data, Intec, and others, and recruited the top salesperson for Tibco as Country Manager.

Global 360 (Eastman Software)

Eastman SoftwareEastman Software provides workflow and document management software. Identified/negotiated deals with three major distribution partners with strengths in the Microsoft Exchange arena. Leveraged Japan Entry's longstanding contacts at senior levels of the Microsoft Japan organization to gain attention for Eastman's MS-Exchange-based workflow and imaging technology, to be positioned as a "Notes-buster" strategic product for Microsoft in Japan. Hired Country Manager, former President of Softbank Forum and the ex-VP Marketing of Lotus Development Japan.

IBM (FileNet)

FileNetFileNet Corporation is a content management and business processes software developer. Japan Entry revitalized the Japanese operation through recruitment of Oracle's #1 reseller and some leading systems integrators. Subsequently recruited dynamic Country Manager to head FileNet's operations in Japan.

Infor (Mapics)

Infor | MapicsMapics is an ERP software provider. Hired an industry heavy-hitter with extensive SCM experience including seven years running Asia-Pacific for EXE Technologies. He had experience as the president of the U.S. subsidiary of a Japanese 3PL and spearheaded the reengineering of the supply chain at Dell and Yamaha Motors.

Justsystems

JustSystemsJustsystems is an XML database provider. Hired two seasoned executives for this Japanese company's expansion into North America and Europe. One individual previously served as the president of Cartesis where he quadrupled sales, and prior to that as VP Sales for Business Objects where he nearly doubled revenue to $70M. The second individual was formerly the channel business manager for Hyperion Europe, and had directly relevant domain expertise from Brio and Informix.

Kana Communications

ServiceSoftServiceSoft (acquired by Kana Communications) is the developer of a knowledgebase system for helpdesks. Closed $1M investment and $500K prepayment from C. Itoh Technoscience (the world's #1 reseller of Sun equipment), and identified the first Japanese reference customer.

Mastech

MastechMastech Corporation provides outsourced information technology solutions to large and medium-sized companies. Japan Entry identified two prospective acquisition targets -- one with strong ERP, SE and project management capabilities, and the other with temporary staffing capabilities.

MatrixOne (Dassault)

MatrixOneMatrixOne is a provider of PLM software. Recruited former General Manager of SAP Japan's Western Japan Region to serve as Country Manager.

NCR

NCRNCR provides data warehousing, CRM, helpdesk, store automation and ATM hardware, software and services. Japan Entry identified an acquirer for NCR's non-core Japanese maintenance/repair subsidiary. Screened 25 potential acquirers focusing on two top candidates, including a leading call center company and outsourced manufacturing subcontractor seeking to broaden their service offerings.

Numara (Unipress)

NumaraUniPress Software develops web-based help desk software. Japan Entry signed a partnership with a distributor with strong technical support capability and sales channels, that included a large prepayment and three-year multimillion dollar revenue commitment.

OpenText (Dataware)

OpenTextDataware is a knowledge management (KM) vendor. Japan Entry negotiated distribution partnership with a large Fujitsu subsidiary and generated a $500K prepayment and localization/distribution agreement.

In a previous project for an earlier product set, Japan Entry signed a reseller for the company's CD-ROM authoring tool, which produced up to 32% of worldwide revenues over a five-year period.

AgileOracle (Agile)

Agile Software is a provider of product lifecycle management (PLM) solutions for collaborative manufacturing. Japan Entry recruited the Japan Country Manager to head Agile's office in Japan who formerly served as Acting Country Manager, i2 Technologies.

OptikaOracle (Optika)

Optika is a provider of production workflow and imaging solutions. Japan Entry negotiated a non-exclusive localization/distribution agreement with a $80M direct sales company that is #1 in the financial production workflow and imaging market.

PeopleSoft

PeopleSoftPeopleSoft is an ERP software company. Recruited Japan Country Manager, who grew operations to over 50 employees in one year and closed one of the company’s largest accounts, Toyota.

OptikaStellent is a developer of production workflow and imaging solutions. Japan Entry helped negotiate a non-exclusive localization and distribution agreement with a leading 80M direct sales systems integrator which is dominant in the financial services imaging market.

SterlingSterling Commerce

Sterling Commerce is a provider of EDI and eCommerce solutions. Japan Entry recruited a VP Sales and SEs.

SuperOffice

SuperOfficeSuperOffice develops CRM software. Masterminded a localization/distribution agreement with Sharp including linkage software to the Sharp Zaurus electronic organizer. Sales grew to a significant portion of worldwide revenues and catapulted SuperOffice to the #1 CRM vendor in Japan. Subsequently recruited the Country Manager of the parties' joint venture.

Japan Entry identified NTT Comware, Fujitsu (as an OEM), and other resellers and based on this success, recruited the Japan Country Manager, who had previously been the President of Apple Japan. News of his appointment was featured in the Nikkei Shimbun.

Vocollect

VocollectVocollect provides voice recognition hardware for warehouse management workers. Japan Entry hired the former EVP of Servigistics Japan whose supply chain sales credentials included sales of over $15M in professional services at prior employer SSA, and extensive sales experience at i2, CommerceOne and SAP.
